This course is designed to prepare occupational therapy students and practitioners for AOTA Annual Hill Day. The course covers what to expect for the day, how to navigate Capitol Hill, and legislative issues to be discussed during Congressional meetings. The course includes preparatory assignments (homework) designed to increase confidence and success for Hill Day. Hill Day participants are required to view course materials to ensure a successful Hill Day experience.
For people not attending Hill Day, this course provides useful information on how to advocate for the profession, and AOTA Federal Affair’s priorities. This course is appropriate for use in classrooms or other group settings.
