Overview:
Join us as we discuss how to utilize the UDL framework as the foundation to apply the same principles during transition and on into the employment sector. While businesses and people with disabilities sometimes encounter serious challenges as they seek to implement inclusion strategies, as AT practitioners we can assist to overcome those hurdles with robust and creative practices. During this session, we will highlight successful strategies and give real-life examples that can be implemented by businesses of all sizes to create a more inclusive workplace. We will explore the three areas of UDL: Multiple Means of Engagement, Representation, and Action and Expression and provide practical examples for workplace accommodation solutions. These examples will fall across the technology continuum: from no-tech strategies to low tech to high tech solutions.

Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will learn about the three principles of UDL and how to apply these principles in the employment arena.
2. Participants will learn practical methods to assess and process the challenges in work experiences or training settings.
3. Participants will gain an understanding of the importance and how to design programs that are accessible to as many transition aged youth and adults as possible from the start – even before disability-specific information is available.
