Overview:
The iPad is a highly engaging and versatile tool and research indicates that iPads play a significant role in increased student achievement. Now persons with significant physical access issues may also benefit from the versatility of the iPad for learning, communication, leisure and more. This session will focus on the physical and motor accessibility features in the iPad iOS, hardware including switch interfaces, switches and mounts. A collection of resources, picture and video tutorials will provide you with a step by step guide to alternate access to the iPad.

Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to identify iOS accessibility features used for physical and motor accessibility to the iPad
2. Participants will be able to Identify hardware including switch interfaces, switches and mounting systems used for switch access to the iPad.
3. Participants will be able to identify switch accessible apps for cause & effect, communication, education and leisure.

Speaker Bio:
Cindy has worked as a school based Occupational Therapist for 25+ years focusing on assistive technology early on in her career. For nine years she worked with the Wisconsin Assisive Technology Initiative (WATI) as an Assistive Technology Consultant and five years as the committee chairperson for the Wisconsin Assistive Technology Across the Lifespan Conference. Currently Cindy works as a private consultant providing assistive technology training, professional development and direct service. Cindy presents at local, state, national and international conferences on topics including Switch Accessibility, iPad learning, Video Self Modeling and Assistive technology for reading and writing.
