Course Description
This course will explore how the complex nature of today’s health care environment may result in increased moral distress for occupational therapy practitioners. In addition to exploring the sources of moral distress, the course will offer coping strategies for reducing negative outcomes associated with this rising phenomenon.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to
- Identify factors that may contribute to moral distress for occupational therapy practitioners and managers.
- Recognize the impact moral distress may have on occupational therapy practice.
- Identify strategies used in combating moral distress.
- Recognize how the environment can be shaped to reduce the negative consequences associated with moral distress in occupational therapy practice.
