Our presentation will share an innovative approach to teaching occupational therapy theory using andragogical, learner-centered, and active learning principles as well as the results of a scholarship of teaching and learning project assessing the effectiveness of this approach following a course redesign.
The discussion will provide opportunities for educators to share challenges, strategies, and tips for teaching this complex but crucial content.
The chat will be guided by two occupational therapy educators involved with the course redesign, its implementation, and/or its evaluation.
Mackenzie Feldhacker, OTD, OTR/L, CLT-LANA and Diana Feldhacker, PhD, OTD, OTR/L, BCPR have extensive knowledge and expertise in teaching occupational therapy theory and in using innovative teaching methods in occupational therapy education.
We welcome occupational therapy educators from any background to join us to share their own experiences on teaching theory and generate new ideas for enhancing theory application.
This call will be recorded.
