Elevate your practice and get the knowledge you need to be the best OT or OTA that you can be. Whether you’re looking to master a specific set of skills or pursue a more extensive, in-depth exploration of a specific area, AOTA’s Professional Certificate Program and Micro Credentials will give you the knowledge and skills you need to better serve your clients and advance within the profession.
What is a micro credential? A micro credential is issued upon completion of a set of required thematically connected courses. The micro credential provides acknowledgement of the growing knowledge of the practitioner and can either be completed as a step to the professional certificate as stated above or completed for its own merits without advancement to a certificate—it is considered a stand-alone designation.
Required Courses:
· Occupational Therapy Fall Prevention: Assessment and Intervention Strategies for Community-Dwelling Older Adults
· "I've Lived Here for 40 Years Without a Handrail"
· Meeting the Psychosocial Needs of Clients
· Enabling Design: A Person-Centered Approach
· From Inspiration to Installation: The Search for Creative Ideas to Solve Home Mod Challenges
· Occupational Therapy’s Role in Assisting a Patient Transition From Hospital to Home
Essentials Courses for Home and Community Safety and Driving (these need to be taken one time and pave the way for issue of three micro credentials and ultimately the professional certificate).
