DESCRIPTION
Earners of the Infant Feeding and Swallowing badge have successfully demonstrated an understanding of the complexity of Infant Feeding and Swallowing processes that require integrating motor, sensory, neurological, cardiorespiratory, and gastrointestinal systems. They are also sensitive to the child’s environment and the parent-child feeding relationship. Occupational therapists are experts in the areas of motor control, sensory processing, and swallowing function, making them valuable members of the teams caring for these children. This digital badge signifies that the practitioner understands evidence based infant and child feeding and swallowing and have the knowledge of how feeding issues develop and present, clinical assessment, intervention, and nutrition including practical strategies to address complex feeding and swallowing problems.
Earners of this badge have completed 15 contact hours or 1.5 CEUs based on course work and an exam.
CE course and criteria required to earn this badge:
1) Completion of Infant and Child Feeding and Swallowing, 2nd ed via text book or eBook Infant and Child Feeding and Swallowing, 2nd Ed., Ebook & Exam Learn and Earn
Earner must achieve a score of 75% or better on the assessment for this course.
