Description

CVI affects nearly 2/1000 live births and accounts for 20 to 25% of visually impaired children in developed countries (Lueck and Dutton, 2015). This course will introduce the 10 characteristics associated with CVI and the three phases of CVI progression. Through lecture and video, participants will learn to generate basic modifications to their OT treatment techniques in order to support and facilitate the vision of a person with CVI in any pediatric setting.

Following this course, the learner will be able to:

1)      Identify the 10 characteristics associated with CVI.

2)      Describe the three phases of CVI progression

3)      Identify basic treatment techniques and therapy modifications to support and facilitate the vision of a person with CVI.
