With the continued stressors that both wounded service members and veterans face after separation from the military, there is a huge need for skilled OT intervention and community support. This session will identify the complex physical, cognitive, and psychosocial struggles that veterans face after they have completed their time in service and includes case studies from recently separated service members who will share their victories and struggles as they seek to live their lives to the fullest.
Objectives
Following this session the participant will be able to:
· Identify the complex physical, cognitive, and psychosocial struggles that combat veterans face after they have completed their time in service.
· Discuss effective strategies for treating separated or retired veterans and their families across the spectrum of care.
