A narrow focus on eating and exercise routines can limit the success of patients attempting to manage their weight. Join us for an overview of the physiological, psychosocial, and behavioral factors that affect weight in order to dismiss the myth that managing obesity is simply about the willpower to eat and move differently. You will learn OT interventions that target factors such as socioeconomic status, culture, relationships, self-regard, and stress.
Following this presentation, the practitioner will be able to:
· Articulate the physiological, psychosocial, and behavioral factors that affect weight management.
· Describe interventions that target the psychosocial and behavioral factors that impact the management of overweight and obesity.
