The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in changes in our habits, routines, and rituals. This new normal presents occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant students with a unique set of challenges. It is crucial to acknowledge the fear and anxiety among our future practitioners. This webinar highlights strategies and techniques to address the emotional well-being of students in entry-level professional occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant degree programs. It will serve as a launch pad for future conversations and resources to support those entering into a career in occupational therapy.

Following this presentation the learner will be able to:

  • Identify the unique experiences of OT and OTA students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Identify self-regulation and mindfulness strategies to decrease acute stress and anxiety.
  • Describe how habits, routines, and rituals can enhance executive functioning.
