Presenters: Mary Walsh Sterup, OTR/L, CHT; Tammy Richmond, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA; Sharmila Sandhu, JD, Monica Wright, CPC, CPMA, CPCO

AOTA successfully advocated for OT to provide telehealth visits to Medicare beneficiaries during the period of the public health emergency, retroactive to March 1st. What does that mean for therapists and assistants right now? In this webinar, the speakers will share the latest Medicare telehealth requirements, discuss areas where we are seeking Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) clarification, and review best practices for setting up and delivering telehealth to Medicare beneficiaries. We will also discuss Communication Technology Based Services (CTBS) including e-visits, virtual visits, and phone assessments.

Following this presentation, the practitioner will be able to:

·         Identify factors to consider when implementing telehealth for Medicare beneficiaries during the coronavirus pandemic.

·         Identify factors to consider to properly code and bill telehealth services to Medicare.

·         Identify helpful resources to stay up to date on changes related to telehealth and occupational therapy regarding Medicare setting-specific concerns still requiring clarification.
