Description:
As of January 2022, Occupational Therapists can complete a home health start of care for clients receiving home health services. This course will provide you with important information needed during the process of completing the OASIS data set and your OT assessment. Topics covered are: Medication related tasks at start of care including, drug regimen review, medication related OASIS items, and assessing the immediate care and support needs of the patient. In addition, the application of occupational therapist knowledge and skills will also be discussed.
This is the fifth course in the “Performing a Home Health Start of Care” series. Individuals completing the series in addition to three ‘Essentials’ courses are eligible to receive the AOTA Performing a Home Health Start of Care micro credential and digital badge. Learning objectives:
Following completion of this course, the learner will:
1) Identify the medication-related tasks required at start of care.
2) Discriminate between the purposes of the Drug Regimen Review and the OASIS medication-related items.
3) Analyze situations that may be discovered at start of care to accurately score OASIS medication-related items.
