Description
This course provides occupational therapists with a basic understanding of low vision. It reviews the anatomy of the eye, common eye diseases, the process of low vision care, and the psychosocial and physical adjustments to low vision.
Learning Objectives:
After completing this course, you should be able to:
• Identify the process of vision and function of the visual system,
• Identify common causes of vision impairment in adults,
• Discuss the impact of vision impairment on health, mental health, daily activities, social participation, and quality of life
• Identify services included in vision rehabilitation, and
• Describe the occupational therapist’s role as part of the vision rehabilitation team.
