Product Overview

Refugees and asylum seekers are increasingly represented in OT practice. Displacement to and resettlement in a new country can disrupt the occupational lives of refugees and asylum seekers. Income-generating occupations are especially curtailed, particularly for those with disabilities. This course will summarize activities, products, and case studies from PRIDE, a federally funded, occupation-focused employment training and support program for disabled refugees and asylum seekers.

 - Learning Objective 1: Describe at least one OT conceptual framework and one occupation-focused assessment that can be used with refugees and asylum seekers with disabilities.

- Learning Objective 2: Identify strategies to foster engagement in meaningful occupations that support livelihood and income generation for disabled refugees and asylum seekers.
