This webinar will build on the Medicare Part B information presented during the Private Practice Essentials for Reimbursement, Parts I– IV and will cover regulatory, compliance, policy, and billing information in detail, including an overview of MIPS, the Medicare OTA payment modifier, maintenance therapy, and the interplay of secondary and primary insurance.
After attending this session, participants will be able to:
· Understand and participate in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)
· Understand Medicare’s definition of “maintenance care” and how the Jimmo case applies.
· Understand the 15% OTA payment modifier and how to use it appropriately.
· Fully understand the implications of participating or not participating in Medicare.
· Understand how Medigap, supplemental, and secondary insurances interplay with Medicare.
