Program Description
A rapidly growing number of people in the United States live with a form of doctor-diagnosed arthritis, which historically, has been treated as a secondary diagnosis in rehabilitation. Currently nearly 60 million adults have arthritis, however, this is projected to increase to 72 million adults by the year 2030.
Occupational therapists play a significant role in improving the quality of care for clients by treating arthritis as a primary diagnosis and developing a collaborative approach to evaluation and treatment planning. Through a thoughtful and comprehensive evaluation, therapists can empower patients to take a more active role in identifying and achieving meaningful goals for treatment planning.
This webinar will help you develop a foundation for treatment planning with patients with arthritis that you can implement into your practice immediately to improve the occupational performance and overall well-being for all patients with arthritis.
Learning Objectives:
· Analyze the key elements of a holistic evaluation for patients with all forms of arthritis and rheumatic conditions.
· Implement shared decision-making to determine which factors to focus on to create needs-based patient education, goals and treatment plans.
· Apply a daily routine schedule with your patient to incorporate treatment plans and objectives to reach goals.
