Course Description:
This course is designed to promote occupational therapy’s role in the critical care environment and educate occupational therapy practitioners of evidence-based evaluation methods and interventions for patients in low-level states. This course will cover diagnoses associated with low-level states, early mobilization, delirium management, and appropriate evaluation and treatment methods for low-level patients.

Following this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Differentiate between diagnoses associated with low-level states and disorders of consciousness
2. Identify the role of occupational therapy in early mobilization and delirium prevention or management for low-level patients
3. Identify appropriate evaluation methods for low level patients
4. Describe evidence-based treatment options for low-level patients
5. Identify appropriate methods of evaluation and treatment for a low-level patient when provided a case study
