Description:
As occupational therapists, our treatment approaches must reflect current needs and advances. With this in mind, it is important to expand our view and understanding of “women’s health” and identify ways that we can fill the need. While many of the health concerns described may not be considered life-threatening, they can be life-altering.
This practice area also provides opportunities for OTPs to broadly reconnect with our mental health roots as we can play an integral role in facilitating productive and seamless transitions throughout the life of a woman.
This introductory course provides a general introduction and overview of women’s health and how occupational therapy practitioners can affect change in this area.
