Routine, Occupational Balance and Health in Aging, is based on the award-winning Lifestyle Redesign® program. This third course of the six course series offers practical guidance for ensuring occupational participation of independent-living older adults.
Although not required, it is strongly recommended that participants have a copy of Lifestyle Redesign®: The Intervention Tested in the USC Well Elderly Studies, 2nd Edition available when viewing this course.
Description:
This course highlights the relationship between routine, occupational balance, and health. Practitioners will discover the important roles of homeostasis and circadian rhythm in well-being during older adulthood. In addition, practitioners will learn about the building blocks of longevity, including the various types of activity (mental, physical, social, productive, and spiritual) and their role in healthy aging for older adults. Finally, application of the principles to health-promoting activity for older adults will be discussed.
