Stress and Inflammation Reduction for Older Adults, is based on the award-winning Lifestyle Redesign® program. This fifth unit of the six course series offers practical guidance for ensuring occupational participation of independent-living older adults. 

 

Although not required, it is strongly recommended that participants have a copy of Lifestyle Redesign®: The Intervention Tested in the USC Well Elderly Studies, 2nd Edition available when viewing this course. 

 

Description:

This course uncovers the effects of chronic stress on the mind and body, as well as the relationship between inflammation and chronic disease. Through engagement with this course, practitioners will develop strategies to help older adult clients manage stress. This unit also highlights the ways in which time use affects habits, routines, occupational patterns, health, and well-being. Finally, practitioners will gain a new understanding of the concept of “thriving,” and the ways in which lifestyle modification programs can help facilitate thriving during older adulthood.
