·       Discuss the connection between health care policy and occupational therapy practice

·       Explain advocacy at the practice, professional, and health systems levels.

·       Describe strategies one could use in everyday occupational therapy practice in order to advance the profession.

·       Identify key stakeholders in one’s personal practice and articulate how occupational therapy can help address those stakeholders’ biggest challenges.

·       Discuss the principles of therapeutic use of self in order to advocate effectively to key stakeholders.

·       Identify state and federal representatives and describe avenues to stay informed about policy and to advocate at the health-systems level.
