Overview:

There are hundreds of new materials, tools, and techniques for creating assistive technology solution in under one minute. This session will discuss and demonstrate materials such as Instamorph, new Velcro brand products; Loc-Line; Corrugated Plastic, new specialty tapes, padded wire and more.

 

Learning Objectives:

1)  Identify at least five solutions that can be so fabricated with Instaflash

2)  Identify at least five solutions that can be fabricated with Instamorph

3)  Identify five solutions that can be made with LOC-Line

4)  Identify four different types of specialty tapes for creating A.T. In under one minute.

 

Speaker Bio/s: 

Dr. Therese Willkomm is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and the Director of New Hampshire’s State Assistive Technology Program with the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire. She holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Technology from the University of Pittsburgh and has over 25 years experience in providing/managing assistive technology services. She is known nationally and internationally as “The McGyver of Assistive Technology” and also the “App Guru.” Dr. Willkomm has presented in 38 states, five foreign counties, and three U.S. Territories and authored 22 publications including her most recent book titled “Make A Difference Today - Assistive Technology Solutions in Minutes.”
