Course Description
Have you faced ethical dilemmas in the workplace? Have you ever felt pressured to provide services that just don’t feel right? If so, this course will help you to explore how you can maintain your own sense of ethical practice and the responsibilities of the workplace to ensure that you can.
This newly updated course will explore organizational ethics issues that may influence the ethical decision making of occupational therapy practitioners. Course material will explore ethical conflicts that may arise between the practitioner as an organizational employee and as an autonomous health care provider. Participants will be introduced to strategies that will assist in addressing situations in which occupational therapy practitioners may be pressured by an organization’s administration to provide services that are in conflict with their personal or professional code of ethics. Conversely, participants will have the opportunity to explore how their own actions as members of the health care organization support an ethical culture.
