Description:

Early Intervention (EI) occupational therapy practitioners provide family-centered and routines-based services for infants and toddlers in a variety of natural environments. Historically, EI services have been primarily in the home. At this time, occupational therapy practitioners are finding themselves integrating service delivery into many different natural environments where infants and young children with and without disabilities participate together. Services are being provided in day care and educational settings, the home and other community based settings. Providing services in natural environments and contexts benefit the child, the families and other key individuals who are involved in the life of the child.

This course provides information on early childhood policies and pre-school curriculum and settings. Resources, tips, and strategies to promote the integration of their services into inclusive environments are provided.
