AOTA uses the latest technology to protect your credit card information and does not release it to any outside organization. You can place your orders using SSL encryption (the Internet standard for secure transactions).

Your order information and purchase history are protected by a login name and password that you set. If you forget your password, the web site has a mechanism allowing you to reset your password.

AOTA accepts the following payment methods:

The products ordered online are shipped from our warehouse in Duluth, GA, via UPS.

Sorry, we are unable to deliver to PO Boxes.

Required signature has been waived unless AOTA is notified at 1-800-729-2682.

You will have instant access online to AOTA-published CE Articles and Online Courses, as well as other digital publications, once your order is processed.

To access your online course, go to learn.aota.org and log in with your AOTA username/password.

For continued education courses not published by AOTA, you will receive an email the next business day with access information.

Orders for shippable products are processed and shipped within 2 business days. U.S. customers will receive orders within 7 business days of purchase. Canadian customers will receive their orders within 10 business days, and other countries within 3 weeks of purchase.

Individuals

Book Return Policy

Returns accepted within 30 days of invoice date for a full refund on purchase price less shipping and handling. Returns received between 30 and 90 days are subject to a 10% restocking fee, unless being returned due to damage, defect, or incorrect shipment. Returns will not be accepted after 90 days. Items must be returned in saleable condition. This policy does not apply to bookstores, Exam Prep, digital publications, or Continuing Education’s Self-Paced Clinical Courses.

Please include original packing slip in return package.

Exam Prep and Digital Publications Return Policy

Subscriptions to Exam Prep may be cancelled within 14 days as long as the subscriber has not accessed the Exam Prep system. Email customerservice@aota.org to request a refund.

For digital publications, returns are not accepted. If you believe your circumstances warrant a return, email customerservice@aota.org to request a refund.

Continuing Education Return Policy

Please review your selected CE (CEonCD, Self-Paced Clinical Course, Online Course, CE Article, Webcast) product description and learning objectives before you place your order.

  • Online Course, CE Article, and Webcast Return Policy

    Cancellations or refunds are not available after 1 week or once the content is accessed through AOTA Learn. If you made your purchase less than a week ago and have not accessed the course, please email customerservice@aota.org to request a cancellation and refund. Courses can be exchanged for a course of equal or lesser value for up to 30 days if original course has not been accessed.

  • SPCC and CEonCD Return Policy

    If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return the product within 14 days. A restocking fee of 10% of the product price will be charged unless the return is due to a damaged, defective, or incorrectly shipped product. All items except damaged or defective products must be returned in saleable condition with no seals open, broken, or tampered with. Defective CDs will be replaced with a new copy or the online version of the course. To receive a replacement copy, an email must be sent to cedept@aota.org to determine it is not an accessibility issue.

    Refunds will not be issued after 14 days. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. This policy does not apply to bookstores. If you have any questions, please call 1-800-729-2682, or email customerservice@aota.org.

Bookstores Return Policy

Bookstores must first contact AOTA for permission to return: customerservice@aota.org. Please send the following information:

  • Bookstore name/number, address, phone number, and contact email address
  • Title(s) of product(s) to be returned
  • Quantity of each title to be returned
  • Original PO number and/or order number.

You will be emailed a Bookstore Return Merchandise Authorization form. This form MUST accompany the return package for credit to be issued.

A maximum of 25% of the original quantity ordered per title may be returned. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. A 10% restocking fee will be deducted from all applicable refunds. Items must be returned in saleable condition. Returns will not be accepted after 120 days of the invoice date.

For cancelled classes, the bookstore may return the full order within 30 days of the invoice date.

The Exam Prep access is good for one year from the date of purchase. Additional extensions can be purchased by calling 1-800-729-2682. Exam Prep extensions cannot be purchased online.

What You Need To Participate:

  • Computer with Windows XP or higher or Mac OSX or higher
  • Updated mobile tablet with current Android or iOS browser
  • Current version of internet browsers (Internet Explorer [IE] 7 or higher, Firefox or Chrome)
  • For all browsers you will need to have JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, and Cookies enabled. Turn off pop-up blockers for online courses.
  • Internet connection at 56 kbps and above is acceptable; broadband access will improve the learning experience.
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader for pdf content. If needed, download a free copy here.
  • Adobe Flash required for webcasts (webcasts are not supported on iPad). If needed, download a free copy here.
  • A DVD player for courses with CDs or DVDs (CD will play in DVD player).

Immediately upon successful completion of the examination and course survey, you will be able to print your electronic CE certificate. Duplicate copies of the course certificate are printable by logging into your AOTALearn account.

Return Policy:

  • Purchase of a digital book grants the purchaser a nonexclusive license to access the digital book on the AOTA digital book platform. The license is for personal use and may not be transferred to another user. See the Terms of Use for Digital Publications.
  • Digital books cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged.

Sharing Policy:

  • Purchasers may not use digital books on more than one computer system at the same time; make or distribute unauthorized copies of digital books; or use, copy, modify, or transfer the digital book, in whole or in part, without permission from AOTA.
  • Purchasers are subject to the policies governing AOTA website use. User names and passwords may not be shared for any AOTA online products, including Exam Prep, the American Journal of Occupational Therapy, and digital books.

Access Questions:

  • How will I access my digital book? After your purchase is completed, you will receive a link to the AOTA Library Site, https://library.aota.org. Sign on with your AOTA user name and password, and your digital book will appear in your library. You can use any browser, but we recommend Chrome or Firefox.
  • Can I download a PDF copy? You may download PDFs in accordance with the policies stated in the Terms of Use. PDFs are for your personal use and reference, and you may not distribute them.
  • Can I access the digital book offline? You cannot access the digital book offline, but you can download the PDF for offline reading.
  • What if I don’t see a publication that I am entitled to? Try logging out of the website and then logging back in. In most cases, this will resolve the problem. If you continue to experience technical difficulty, please either email customer service or use the chat tool at the bottom right of your screen.
  • Does my digital book “expire?” Your digital book is yours as long as the AOTA digital book platform is operational. AOTA digital books are not subscription based.

Permissions:

  • Articles and books published by AOTA or AOTA Press; materials on the AOTA website; and other materials published by AOTA are copyrighted by AOTA and may not be published elsewhere, in whole or in part, without permission from AOTA. AOTA has partnered with the Copyright Clearance Center to meet our readers’ licensing needs. Purchasers wishing to use portions of digital books in other publications (e.g., books, AJOT articles, conference presentations) or in the classroom can request permission by using the button on the Contents page of the digital book or by contacting the Copyright Clearance Center. Authors who want to reuse portions of their book should contact AOTA Press directly; AOTA authors retain certain rights to use their published material as outlined in their author agreements.
